Cannabidiol, more commonly known as CBD, is quickly becoming a rising star in the natural health and holistic world. From tinctures, to balms, to infused smoothies, and even ice cream, it seems everyone wants to get happier and healthier with the help of CBD. According to a 2019 Consumer Reports study, 64 million Americans have dabbled with cannabidiol in the last two years.
The truth is, CBD comprises only a small portion of a whole hemp plant. In fact, there are more than 500 other naturally occurring chemicals, called phytocannabinoids, in a raw cannabis plant. Recent pre-clinical trials indicate these chemicals may amplify the health benefits of CBD. So here at Restore, we decided to go raw. How do we harvest the highest health benefit from our raw, whole plant oil? Enter Cool Process decarboxylation.
Decarboxylation is a process in which vital cannabinoids, like CBD, are produced from the raw hemp extraction through heat and time. While many traditional decarbing methods can reach temperatures of up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit, Restore’s unique Cool Process never exceeds 120 degrees. This gentle, low-temperature technique results in a raw concentration that is about 85% decarboxylated, leaving you with a host of essential phytocannabinoids that are only present in pre-decarbed cannabis.
One of the phytocannabinoids contained in Restore is cannabidiolic acid (CBDA). CBDA, the acidic precursor to CBD, is a bit of an unsung hero in the world of cannabis products. Research suggests CBDA may boost CBD levels and increase its retention within your body’s endocannabinoid system.
Not only does CBDA push the limits of CBD, but it also has distinct benefits of its own. For example, CBDA may decrease nausea. A study in the British Journal of Pharmacology found that it eased nausea and vomiting in rodents and shrews more substantially when compared to isolated CBD.
Additional studies indicate that CBDA may be an effective tumor suppressant. While these results have yet to be tested in cancer patients, CBDA successfully stopped migration of cancer cells in petri dishes. It has also demonstrated its ability to alter the expression of genes associated with metastatic breast cancer.
A 2008 study published by Drug Metabolism and Disposition demonstrated that CBDA has been shown to decrease enzymes associated with inflammation. And research indicates psychiatric symptoms like anxiety and psychosis have even been kept at bay, thanks to CBDA.
The benefits of Cool Process decarboxylation don’t stop at CBDA, though. Many other phytocannabinoids make an appearance in our raw hemp product.
We can’t wait for you to experience what it truly means to feel restored.
